It only took 26 years....

...to lose my State Fair virginity.  A group of us went one night after work.  While there I sampled french fries, cheese curds, deep fried pickles with cream cheese, corn on the cob, a beergarita, mini donuts, a deep fried snickers bar, and sweet martha's cookies.  The nice thing about going with a group of friends, you get to try more foods!

Waterfalls From Last Weekend

As I mentioned before, last weekend I went waterfall hopping to test out my new camera and a new filter.  The first few pictures are from Willow River State Park, and the second batch is from Cascade Falls in Osceola, WI.  Hope you enjoy them.

Oxymoron Sighting #1

I'm calling this oxymoron sighting #1, not because I have more to share right away, but I sure hope to someday.  Green means go right?  Or, is this just a new interpretation of the phrase 'going green'?

Glee Concert

Back in June, a few girlfriends and I went to see the cast of Glee in concert.  I've never really been a fan of live music, I'd rather listen to music played in CD quality and without the interruption of screaming fans, but the concert was amazing.  It was fun, because you actually knew every song they were singing.  Anne and I decided, if they don't come back to Minnesota next year, we would go as far as Chicago to see them again.

Fireworks

Every 4th of July I get the chance to use my firework setting on the camera.  However, using the firework setting means a show shutter speed and since I'm watching fireworks from a boat, it is nearly impossible to hold the camera still.  No complaints though, because it can really give the fireworks some really cool lines.  Here a few of my favorites over the last three years.

Hobbes

Hobbes.  I'd have to say this little guy has been the biggest change in my life lately.  Some say I'm his mom, I say he's my roommate.  Just a forewarning, his picture will probably populate this blog quite often.  I like to take pictures, and he's a way cuter subject than I would be.  So, I respectfully ask, no 'crazy cat lady' jokes.  I don't have a cat, I have a roommate, who sleeps a lot, and doesn't chip in for rent.  But he's soft so I let it slide.  So, below are just a few of the Hobbes pictures you will be seeing.

Boston

At the beginning of August my sister Kelli had a work function in Boston, so naturally my mom and I decided to crash in the free hotel room.  Kelli worked, we played.  Lots of touristy things including Segway Tours, whale watching, sailing, a trip to the aquarium and taking a tour through Paul Revere's house.  Oh, and eating...a lot of eating, but that's okay, because there was twice as much walking.  Enjoy a few pictures below.

Welcome

Well, I have made my first post as a trial run, and now I'm ready to dig into it.  Get ready for an inaccurate timeline of the recent happenings in my life.  I say inaccurate, because I have no intention of trying to post things in the order they have occurred, at least until I'm caught up, then I'll try a little harder.  So enjoy!

Bald Eagle

Today on my way out of town to go photograph some waterfalls, this guy flew right in front of me.  I watched him land in my rear view mirror, so I pulled a 'U'eee (how does one spell that?) pulled over, and just as I got the focus on him, he decided to take off.  Made for a pretty cool shot if you ask me.
